Legal & Contractual Framework

Terms of Engagement

General consulting terms, professional responsibilities, statutory approval parameters, and engineering code compliance governing our services.

1. Scope of Engineering Advisory Services

FEC International Consultancy ("FEC") renders technical engineering consulting, fire risk reviews, CFD smoke evacuation modeling, environmental impact assessments (EIA), physical security risk assessments (SRA), and training academy courses pursuant to mutually executed proposal task orders or formal service contracts. All technical deliverables are produced based strictly on the project parameters, building occupancy data, and process specifications furnished by the client.

2. Engineering Rigor & Statutory Code Standards

All advisory work performed by FEC consulting engineers strictly adheres to governing regional statutes and international technical codes, including the Saudi Building Code (SBC 801/201), UAE Fire & Life Safety Code of Practice, NFPA standards, BS EN directives, ISO 14001, ISO 22301, and HCIS security directives. Technical recommendations reflect code compliance requirements enforced by accredited Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) at the time of design submittal.

3. Client Obligations, Site Access & Statutory Approvals

Clients shall provide accurate, complete architectural, MEP, and chemical process documentation in a timely manner. The client agrees to grant FEC engineering teams necessary site access to inspect physical facilities, collect environmental baseline samples, or perform safety audits. Obtaining final statutory operational permits from Civil Defense, Ministries of Environment, or municipal authorities remains subject to the client satisfying physical building rectifications and paying applicable official authority fees.

4. Intellectual Property & Technical Deliverables

Upon settlement of all contractual financial invoices, the client receives ownership rights to the final stamped engineering reports, approved design drawings, and training certificates issued for their specific facility. Proprietary calculation algorithms, internal CFD methodology frameworks, trade secrets, and training course syllabi remain the exclusive intellectual property of FEC.

5. Professional Liability Boundaries & Governing Law

FEC maintains professional indemnity insurance coverage for technical advisory services. Professional liability for any engineering claim shall not exceed the total professional fee value received under the specific task order giving rise to such liability. These Terms of Engagement are governed by and construed in accordance with the applicable laws of the jurisdiction where the contract is executed (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, or USA).
